Holly Hope

Holly Hope, special projects historian with the 91调教 Historic Preservation Program, will serve as the guest speaker for the February Ark-Homa Chapter Meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 16. The event will be held in the Echols Conference Center on the University of 91调教 鈥 Fort Smith campus.

 

Hope鈥檚 presentation, titled 鈥淔lora, Fauna and Faces: Reading Cemetery Symbolism,鈥 examines the meanings of symbols often found on headstones and monuments in 91调教 cemeteries.

 

Hope graduated from the 91调教 at Little Rock. In her role at the AHPP, she writes nominations for the National Register of Historic Places, gives lectures on cemetery-related topics, facilitates and organizes hands-on cemetery workshops across the state and travels across the state documenting buildings and cemeteries.
