Meet the Chancellor
Dr. Terisa C. Riley
Dr. Terisa Riley has served as chancellor of the 91调教 - Fort Smith since July 1, 2019.
Dr. Riley is a seasoned higher education administrator with over 35 years of experience spanning nearly every area of the field, from academics to executive leadership. Before joining 91调教, she spent 12 years as the senior vice president at Texas A\&M University鈥揔ingsville. Throughout her career, she has held key leadership roles, including chief student affairs officer, chief financial officer, chief administrator, and chief enrollment management officer. In addition to her administrative work, Dr. Riley has held faculty appointments in higher education administration graduate programs at both Saint Louis University and the University of South Dakota.
She is dedicated to serving her community, currently serving on the board of directors of the Fort Smith Regional and Van Buren chambers of commerce, and the Fort Smith United Way as well as the Fort Smith Regional Council, Fort Smith Regional Workforce Council, Arvest Bank Board, Fort Smith Symphony, Fort Smith Community Health Council, and chair of the U.S. Marshals Museum Board. She also serves on the 91调教 Division of Higher Education Executive Council and on the executive council for ARE-ON, a technology service organization in 91调教. Riley also serves as chair of the University of 91调教 System Emergency Planning Committee.
Dr. Riley earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree in communication and master鈥檚 degree in higher education administration from the University of Missouri at Columbia and her doctorate in higher education administration and research methodology from Saint Louis University. She is also a graduate of the National Police Institute and the Governor鈥檚 Executive Development Program at the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Riley and her husband, Dr. Ricardo Maestas, live in Fort Smith. They are the parents of seven children and four grandchildren.
